  1. Sponsorship by U.S. Citizens: Only a U.S. citizen can sponsor their fiancé for a K-1 visa. Lawful permanent residents (green card holders) are not eligible to do so.
  2. Marital Status: Both partners must be unmarried and provide evidence of their single status. This evidence may include previous divorce decrees, annulments, or death certificates of former spouses.

Si eres ciudadano estadounidense y deseas traer a tu prometido o prometida desde Colombia a Estados Unidos, hay requisitos importantes que debes conocer:

  1. Patrocinio por Ciudadanos Estadounidenses: Solo un ciudadano estadounidense puede patrocinar a su prometido o prometida para una visa K-1. Los residentes permanentes legales (titulares de una tarjeta verde) no pueden hacerlo.
  2. Estado Civil: Ambos cónyuges deben ser solteros y proporcionar pruebas de ello, como sentencias previas de divorcio, nulidades o certificados de defunción de excónyuges.
